Our History

EAST 57TH STREET PARTNERS is the fourth generation of a firm founded in 1988. We consider ourselves a boutique firm, yet our reach includes access to all levels of Accounting, Finance, IT, and HR subject matter experts, on an as-needed basis, throughout the country. Our success has always been a result of prioritizing relationships first and delivering more than what we promise. We firmly believe in hands-on collaboration. With a deep commitment to working side-by-side with our clients to solve tough problems and achieve tremendous outcomes, our experienced professionals thrive on integrating with client teams and helping them realize great success.

We have over thirty years of history. Despite that early start in this business we always strive to deliver state of the art ideas, resources, and fresh experiences, ensuring that each client, team consultant, employee, and candidate gets the experience they want and the results they need. Whether you are a new relationship or a longtime friend, we thank you for providing us the opportunity to be of help.

Our Core Principles

At East 57th Street Partners we can only deliver what we sell by hiring only select employees who share our values and by maintaining an environment through which the top professionals in their field would choose to work. We care about our employees and seek to create a family-oriented workplace wherein the team is encouraged to sustain a healthy work/life balance, along with the highest degree of professionalism, collaboration and mutual respect. We value servant leadership, high energy, fun and an environment where people thrive at being the best at what they do. We enter each relationship with a spirit of gratitude, service to others and transparency. We wake up every day knowing that “it is not about us “. But rather, it is about the community we serve, the clients who trust us and the importance of doing what is right above all else.

Our Team

The most important thing to know about our team is that we are here to serve. We all have lots of experience and credentials. So, do all our competitors. Our competitors are all terrific people and great at what they do. We love and are friends with most of them. What differentiates the E57 team is that we prefer to be super relational rather than super transactional.

E57 is more than just a business to us. It is our calling, our ministry, and our passion. We practice servant leadership because it is natural for us. Our team and brand promise are dedicated to putting you and your needs first. There is nothing special about that. However, putting our relationship with you first is the only way we succeed. Who we are matters more than what we sell.

In Memoriam

Joan Chali

In honor of Joan Chalif…

Joan Chalif was one of our first hires at the start of our firm.  Our company today is modeled after many of the personal touches Joan brought to our culture. Originally hired as a receptionist, Joan went on to run our entire back office, operations and ultimately became the heart and soul of our company. She was our den mother, our guiding light, and the glue that held the company together through all the good times and the occasional bad times. In 1989, she began a long career as a business partner and operations director for Lavinski Allan & Associates. When that business sold, she co-founded Propensity, Ltd. in 2004, where she served as a partner and executive until her death. Joan’s family and many friends will always remember her enthusiasm, encouragement, and positive outlook on life. She was the best friend anyone could ever have.

As a company leader, Joan did far more than put up with us. She drove us all to become more successful, more considerate of others, and just better people. Joan died of cancer on August 4, 2007, at the young age of 61. She was irreplaceable and will never be forgotten. We hope to honor her memory and thumbprint on our culture for all the years and future generations to come at East 57th Street. May her spirit continue to inspire us all!
